At this point I'm not sure the pros outweigh the cons, the $4b aid is not worth being beholden to the pressure of a foreign entity. And if a particularly unfriendly President took office, Israel would be in big trouble. Long-term Israel is better off with a US that it can buy weapons from but otherwise more or less leaves it alone one way or the other (and Israel needs to manufacture its own weapons, too). So if Israel gave Trump a plane, I'd be ironically supportive of it for the lulz but I'm not retarded enough to not see that the optics would be awful.

Thank you for the well thought out answer. To me, the optics of taking the plane from Qatar are way worse than the optics would be from taking the plane from Israel, but that doesn't seem to matter right now. I can't think of more than a handful of countries where the optics are worse than Qatar.

Thank you for the well thought out answer. To me, the optics of taking the plane from Qatar are way worse than the optics would be from taking the plane from Israel, but that doesn't seem to matter right now. I can't think of more than a handful of countries where the optics are worse than Qatar.
