Nice job by the Dodgers, they are clearly the better team. Mets pitching was somewhat thin even when Maton and Butto were pitching well, without them there was no hope of holding the Dodgers down. I hope the Yankees win but I think the Dodgers are the favorites, especially if Freeman is ready to go.

Great season for the Mets even with the disappointing finish. But there is a lesson in a NYY-LAD WS even if people like to laugh when the big payrolls flame out of the postseason. The best way to improve your odds is always going to be stacking elite talent. Mets have over $100m of mostly dead weight dropping off the payroll in a couple of weeks, and I hope the first step of the winter will be to hand Juan Soto a blank check.

Good season for the Mets KUB. Was glad to get this thing done yesterday game 7 would have been heart attack time! Dodgers are slight favs vs the Yankees but it can go either way.

Agreed the Yankees have a real shot and thanks. Dodgers have a stacked team despite an all-star cast of arms on the IL. That's the bar the Mets need to reach and clear.

I didn’t see the start of the first two games. Was the pre-game stuff as awful as Fat Joe?

lol. MLB dreamed of this for decades only for it to be a complete dud.

They shouldn’t have rigged Dodgers/Padres series

Dodgers baby! Time to sign Adames to pair up with Mookie in the middle infield!

Which NY team will get Soto?

The Athletic is reporting that the Cubs want to trade Bellinger.

This would be amazing. I still love Buehler too as a playoff piece.

Seems like a really bad contract in a vacuum for a guy who has major health and consistency issues but for the Dodgers, stacking all of these talented but volatile starters, you figure they're just banking on 3-4 of them being healthy come October.

Really bad? Risky yes.

Yamamoto Snell Glasnow not a bad top 3. Then Ohtani and Sasaki Oh Nellie. Still hoping we match on Buehler Mr October.

I would go so far as 'really bad.' Over 128 IP once in the last seven years. But obviously the Dodgers have proven that they don't need nearly all of their starters healthy to win the WS.

I read it was more like 5 years $160m when factoring in the deferrals.

So the Dodgers offerred Soto $600m but the NY teams and Boston offerred $700m. I trust Friedmans calculation models so sounds like the Mets are set for a nice juicy overpay
