You realize you’re making an argument for Russell right? League adjusted he was amazing. That’s the only way to compare players. Or should we say MJ was trash because look at his 3pt%, 3pt makes, assists, etc compared to today?thedangerouskitchen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:27 pmRussell also shot .427%, .442%. .457% and .467% and finished 5th, 3rd, 2nd and 4th in the league respectively._Vcsgrizzfan_ wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:18 pmNo dumb dumb. It's because assists were not handed out easily back then. Very different. And Russell being top 8 in the NBA in assists four times means for the era, he was an excellent passer. Period.thedangerouskitchen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:11 pm
Russell averaged 4.3 Assists per game for his career, and only twice did he average more than 5 a game... this, in an era when teams "averaged" 100-110 FGA per game. Hence, a testament to just how weak the game was back then.
Like I said, weak league bub.

I never said Russell was trash. I said his era was weak... and it was.
