apparently they’re going to have 4 teams and it’s going to be a tournament style with the semis up to 40 points and the final game first to 25.

The "Modern Era" of the NBA has become such an embarrassing joke... thank God I stopped watching 5 years ago!

The NBA and commissioner Adam Silver were eager to make changes to the All-Star Game after last year's contest wasn't very competitive and finished with a final score of 211-186.

"I think there's no doubt that the players were disappointed as well in last year's All-Star Game," Silver told reporters before the Heat-Wizards game in Mexico City on Nov. 2. "We all want to do a better job providing competition and entertainment for our fans."

Well gee... hmmm... here's an idea: Why not urge the players to actually make an effort to try and stop the other team from Scoring???

They keep trying new ideas for the NBA All-Star game when I think it may be unsalvageable.

Keep the dunk contest and three point competition.

Scrap the rest.

Nothing really matters if its ran through players that aren't competing.

At least to a "Saturday pickup game at the park" level.

The three-point competition is basically bulletproof, unless you invite complete non-shooters like Michael Jordan.

I think the dunk contest should feature non-NBA dunkers, from the street, being sponsored by an NBA player. Maybe get eight street dunkers and let them do loose. I saw one video on YT that had a guy doing like 20 dunks that no one has ever done in the dunk contest. Have the prize money go half to the street dunker, half to a charity chosen by the NBAer.

To me, going halfway with the participants is the worst thing the NBA can do. Either the NBA stars show up, or go the other way and get the best from the street. No one cares about role players doing C+ dunks.

Edit: Found it. I think some of these dunks have been done, but some are absolutely insane.

LOL at today's Slam Dunk tourney... players don't even dribble the ball up the court AND they get numerous chances to make the dunk.



Pretty soon the Modern Era will be giving all 30 teams a trophy of some sort so the players feel equal, and don't get their feewings hurt.
