I’ve seen that routine and it seems impossible even for prime Mike TBH. Even with steroids he’d break down after a few weeks of that shit IMO.

You aren't taking into account that "they built them different back then" and that there was more "alpha" back then, and that there wasn't social media (just mounds of cocaine).

Fuck… you’re right. Back then “men were MEN”. Mike might’ve been selling himself short with that routine.

I was definitely one who was duped into thinking Mike had more of a chance than he actually did.

It was mostly from those clips you guys have already posted of him doing a quick flurry with what seemed like decent footwork and good speed for a nearly 60 year old man.

His legs were stiff. He sort of just stood in front of Jake but didn't do anything. Which in hindsight makes perfect sense given his age and previous injury history. I was had.

Honestly, I gained a lot of respect for Jake for not KOing Mike when he almost surely could have in the later rounds. No need to harm a living legend when the victory was already secured.

I wouldn’t worry about it man. Edited clips are always sus… not just for boxing but for ANYTHING. I really do bust my ass in the gym, and as a 43 year old man it kicks my ass sometimes. That’s kinda the main reason I knew Mike at 58 wasn’t gonna turn back shit. Not saying I’m even close to the athlete Mike once was, but I am saying that the years add up fast. Even if Mike lived some crazy spartan lifestyle and only ate the healthiest foods imaginable, never drank or smoked ever, and slept 12 hours a night, combined with constant exercise, it wouldn’t have mattered because he’s a 58 year old man trying to box lol. And as we all know… Mike didn’t live a spartan life. He drank for decades, did heavy drugs, and treated his body like a toilet. The bill ALWAYS comes due. And in Mike’s case it has resulted in a wrecked back, ulcers, and lord knows what else.

Sadly, there are countless internet grifters that prey on the weak minded. It will only get worse. An unintended consequence of the internet. if TDK has an iota of self awareness, I'd give him credit for using those grifters for trolling purposes. He's just dumb.
