Really big fight. Both guys are undefeated and bring their own unique styles to the ring. Bivol is a master at controlling distance and using his jab/footwork, and is the younger man at 33. Meanwhile Beterbiev has a 100% KO ratio and has crushed everyone he has faced. I’m going with Beterbiev but it’s the epitome of a pick’em fight. Beterbiev is 39 and literally just had knee surgery five months ago, so there’s some concern over how he might look in the ring, but IMO he wouldn’t be taking the fight if he didn't think he could handle himself (he has postponed fights in the past for injuries… so he’s not one of those “I’ll just fight through my injury” types).
Regardless of who wins though this should be a barn burner. When the dust settles we’ll have an undisputed light heavyweight champ! Let’s fucking gooooooooo!!!
Couldn’t watch the fight but I’ll check it out later… some people are whining about a “robbery” but we’ll see. Beterbiev’s punches never look powerful but something about them does serious damage.
Fight was released in full by Turki Alalshikh. Damn good fight but I don’t see how anyone scored the win for Bivol. It looked to me like Beterbiev was bullying Bivol for most of the fight. Walking him down, moving him with his punches (even the blocked punches looked like they hurt Bivol), and overall using “effective aggression”.
