Smoking 75 pounds of meat today
Smoking 75 pounds of meat today
One of my best friends wedding is coming up and all he asked for was me to bring smoke meat up to California for him, so I’ll be sitting around the smokers, watching football, and tending the fire all day. Hope you all have a great football Sunday

Sounds delicious already. But all he asked from you was to smoke like $500 of meat and fly 5 hours to bring it to them? Lol.

I’m his best man, and helping to cater his wedding is my wedding gift to them. I got it from a friend who raises pigs so $2 per pound of meat since I killed and processed it for him, not too bad.AlaskaHawks wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 3:32 pm Sounds delicious already. Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are dumber than that.

I don’t raise pigs, wish I had the land to do so. It was a friends pig, so I got a good price since I did the work other than raising it.Robceltsfan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 4:38 pmYou slaughtered your own pigs? Smoking at home. Gonna smoke it here, vacuum seal it, freeze it, then cut it into bite sized pieces and finish it in a wok right before the wedding.Shill Jackson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:02 pmSo are you on the mainland or smoking at home?

Yeah pig. Just cut the whole pig into more or less 2x2 strips. Marinated it for a little over a day and smoking it nowShill Jackson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:59 pmAhhh.

Kiawe, it’s related to mesquite. Gotta have a strong smoke flavor since it’s basically a teriyaki marinade. Shoyu, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, chili pepper water, bay leaves. Fry it up with a little guava jelly and white onions, it’s a classic side dish over here for any celebrationShill Jackson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:03 pmWhat kind of wood?

I genuinely didn’t think about that at all. Think I should try to hide it so they don’t take it away? I could put it in candles or coffee bags?Alex_Murphy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:02 pm traveling with 75 pounds of smoked pig through tsa should raise absolutely zero suspicions whatsoever

WailuahFC undoubtedly leads the most out of the ordinary interesting life of anyone who has posted on AG. Neat stuff. Have fun.
Re: Smoking 75 pounds of meat today
I don’t think my life is that interesting. I just grew up around a different culture than everyone else. I’m sure if anyone else grew up here they’d do the same things I do, if not more. As far as having fun, I severely overestimated how much meat I could load up my smokers with, I’ll be cooking into the morning hours, so not having a ton of fun right now haha_Vcsgrizzfan_ wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 9:39 pm WailuahFC undoubtedly leads the most out of the ordinary interesting life of anyone who has posted on AG. that would be even more suspicious and give off smuggling vibes. personally i’ve never traveled with that much food in my checked luggage but i would ask chatgpt or refer to tsa website.wailuaFC wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:56 pmI genuinely didn’t think about that at all.
