Nice reverse jinx, Phuture. Neither team an easy out, this is a dog fight. Tough to lament Diaz' implosion too hard as we've given the business to Strahm and Hoffman. Need a good one from Manaea on Tuesday.
This feels destined to go to the last game.
Mets pen is running on fumes. There is no one left to trust. You figure Strahm, Kerkering and Hoffman will figure it out but on the New York side the cupboard is looking completely bare if Diaz is gassed and lost it again. Manaea needs to throw a gem on Tuesday.
On a really micro level I actually like walking Turner and Harper to get to Castellanos in that spot in the 9th. If you retire Turner he's on 2nd with Harper up and no out to start the 10th, if you retire Harper it's Castellanos and Harper on 2nd. With Megill you had the righty-righty look and it sets you up to make it challenging for the Phillies in the 10th. Got ahead, just didn't make him chase.
No matter what happens, great run for NYM, but it would hurt to lose this from 1-0, 3-0 with Philly on the ropes before Severino served up those meatballs.

I'm frustrated on my side of the series too, despite the win. Wasted a great Wheeler start by giving him no run assistance.
Hoffman last night was shit. I don't blame Strahm as much in game 1 for playing badly as he followed Hoffman getting shelled but man he wasn't great today either. He started OK but finished poorly.
I don't blame you guys going to Diaz either. Seemed like the right play. He pitches great against Kyle too.

Padres knocking out the Dodgers would be amazing
Rooting for Manny Machado though?
All of LAD, SD and PHI are full of loathsome cunt players with fake toughness and feminine mannerisms. The Mets are by far the most genuine and likeable group of the bunch no troll and I say that objectively.

I disagree. The Padres sure because of Tatis & Machado alone.
But the Dodgers have nothing but great guys I’d let my sister marry.
Ohtani
Betts
Freeman
Teoscar
Smith
Muncy
These are all guys I’d play a round of golf with.
Phillies
Schwarber
Castellanos
Marsh
Bohm
Stott
All good guys in my book, even with the presence of Bryce around, these guys are collectively good in my book.
Mets
I fucks with all these guys too.
Let’s not pretend these guys are Albies, Acuna, Ozuna.

Dodgers players may be fine but the ownership/management of that organization plus their fans are worse than satan himself. Pure unadulterated trash.
I’d absolutely rather see Manny and the Padres win and then get clown stomped by either the Mets or Phillies.
Oh yes ill give you the fans. Ghetto East LA trash for the most part, or faggy liberal whites from Silverlake & Pasadena. But I’m still raging hard for Shohei so im looking past it all.

That's mostly fair regarding Philadelphia. Trump has a lot of support in that locker room so I will give them a general pass. However I will maintain that they take themselves way too seriously and are way too self-righteous in general, they act like a team going for a three-peat when they haven't won dick, no one will crack a smile in that dugout. It's this sort of unearned mean mugging intensity that I see through and don't respect.
The Padres are awful but at least they own the villain role. The Dodgers are corny and soft, just look at how Roberts wet himself because Machado flipped a ball in his direction.
Aye yo Kub. If the miracle Mets pull this off win a WS in what was suppose to be a throwaway year, does that change how much Cohen opens up the checkbook in the off season if he already achieved his World Series goal?

If anything I think it may make him want to spend even more. He's a shark and an ambitious one, he's not just in this to break a title drought, he wants to do for the Mets what Lacob did for the Warriors or what the Guggenheim group did for the Dodgers and turn the Mets into a tier-1 brand in American sports. He said the first day he was introduced, "I don’t want to be good one year and bad three years. I want to be good every year." They have plans underway to develop all of the area around Citi Field with a casino, a new stadium for the soccer team, maybe moving the Islanders there. He will want to buy the Mets TV Network when the rights deal expires. The Mets being great is the centerpiece of everything. The same really applies to David Stearns, he said when they clinched the playoffs something like "we need to have a lot more champagne celebrations as a franchise." I don't think they want to rebuild ever again, they want to be the Yankees or the Dodgers in that sense.
With that being said I don't think winning will make them spend irresponsibly. But it would make a Soto pursuit even more likely, not less likely, and it's making Alonso coming back more likely with the moments he's producing.

Milwaukee is actually a very nice city but yes Sewer fans are the bottom of the barrel gutter trash. I love wearing my Cubs WS shirt there. Even 8 years later it pisses people off.
