so I’m eating at Fogo de Chão in Manhattan last night…
and I’d say I’m about halfway through one of the servers brings out the skirt steak and literally starts, carving it right over my leg instead of carving it over the table and needless to say a piece of the meat falls and lands on the floor, but not before falling on my brown dress pants, causing a huge grease stain.
Dude, somewhat unapologetic just waltzes off. now i’m heated cuz this is unacceptable. How can some idiot be so careless unfocused to not carve the meat over the table and the plates? Fucking idiot. they try to offer me wet towelettes but it’s steak grease… it’s not coming out with water. i didn’t even try. i knew i had to go to the hotel and change or even worse get the pants dry cleaned at some point.
so i call over the manager and he’s like it was an accident. no shit. but one that could have been prevented. I explained to him that I’ve been to over 100 rodizios and never have I had a piece of meat fall in my lap and ruin my attire. I made the point that my appetite was now ruined and then I had to go back to the hotel and change and who’s going to cover the cost of this dry cleaning?
Did I overreact? what would you have done?

Sounds like they were being bigots cuz you’re a Muslim. Purposely dropping food on your clothes and then not giving a shit when you complained.

I mean it didn’t seem like they gave you a resolution. According to your OP you threw a fit and they basically shrugged their shoulders and moved on. They were 100% discriminating you for being a towel head. I know you said your DNA test thingie said you’re Italian but trust me bud… you don’t look Italian.Alex_Murphy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 9:42 amstill suffering from bipolar depression, big guy? buck up.

Oh shit I just read the title of your OP lol… didn’t see that you were in Manhattan. Yea dude… the population in NY is like 10% Muslim. I guarantee they were being fucking disgusting racists when they saw your sandy looking ass come in. Don’t let this shit slide. You didn’t overreact… if anything you under-reacted.

You’re not wrong for annoyed but “losing your appetite” is a bit much and kinda feminine TBH.
Fogo De Chao is a bit trashy these days though and is kinda like the chillis of Brazilian steakhouses. You need to be going to Chama Gaucha.

with respect to the loss of appetite comment, in a way it was kinda that i just didn’t want to be there after that. i could have easily put down 100oz more of steak. i just didn’t wanna be walking around the salad bar with big ole grease stain like some uncompensated chump who just got did dirty. so i sorta say that when i wanna close to whoever that they fucked up and i don’t want to be there.
fogo is decent and the one in vegas by the strip is extraordinaire. perfect cuts seasoning and char and very consistent. now i know not all locations can be the same but with fogo running best of brazil for $40 (it was $45 in manhattan) it’s a great fucking deal when i wanna load up on protein for the day.
Re: so I’m eating at Fogo de Chão in Manhattan last night…
Fogo is that cheap these days? Don’t think Chama has been in the $40s in over a decade. Honestly at those prices it doesn’t surprise me they have uncoordinated slugs working there.Alex_Murphy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 10:43 amwith respect to the loss of appetite comment, in a way it was kinda that i just didn’t want to be there after that. i could have easily put down 100oz more of steak. i just didn’t wanna be walking around the salad bar with big ole grease stain like some uncompensated chump who just got did dirty. so i sorta say that when i wanna close to whoever that they fucked up and i don’t want to be there.

all fogos have been running best of brazil for a couple months now with no end in sight but you have to ask for it. they omit a couple of meats from the offerings but it doesn’t shake up what i normally like … you still get the picanah and a bunch of other red meat cuts including top and bottom sirloin, flank, pork belly, all the chickens, and more. you should check it out.Titan18 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 10:59 amFogo is that cheap these days?
