The thing is… no one gives a shit if John Franklinson makes more than Raheem Johnson. We compare the stars because the stars are what drive the sport. And by that comparison it’s a fucking slaughter. But… at least your middle class fighters make slightly more?
More like Muhammad Muhammadstan than John Franklinson.
But if it doesn't matter and no one cares, don't say "boxing" and "MMA", which admits of those people (that are way, way, way more numerous than the stars). Say "the 99.99th percentile of boxing" and "99.99th percentile of MMA".

At this very moment, Alex Pereira is probably the guy fans get the most excited about.
But we are in a pretty international place at the moment, so the effects are a bit more widely distributed than the usual "get a charismatic Whitey or Black American" effect.
Fly = Brazil
Bant=Georgia (country)
Feather=Spain/Georgia
Light=Kaboomistan
WW=Terrorismland (by way of USA)
MW=South Africa
LHW=Brazil
HW=USA
The UFC is probably going to try and push Umar at 145 to piggyback off Khabib, and probably Shavkat at WW. Maybe Khamzat if he ever redirects his career.
Aspinall (England) looming at HW when Jones retires.
Personally, I like the idea of multiple countries having heroes than hyper-emphasis on one or two fighters to drive promotion. I think it will pay off in the long run, although maybe not in the short run.
Dana said Tom is the replacement in case one of Jones or Stipe fall out and I'm hoping Stipe just steps aside and gives Tom his rightful title shot.
Jones would be the favorite against any martial arts fighter in history, but Tom is a challenge. He's bigger and he's a solid wrestler.

Boxers should be happy that MMA fighters don't just take the money.
What is Usyk gonna do if Jon Jones walks up to his house and demands every cent he has?
Have his bodyguards shoot him in the face?
Some "fighter" Usyk is then when challenged his superiors.
You'd think the rich heavyweight boxer of the world would be able to handle himself on his own against Khabib, who has less money in his pockets.
Well… if it makes you feel any better he’d also pay a little extra to support Jon’s wife and kids after having him murdered. Usyk is a good man. Besides, he can afford it… think he raked in like $50m for fighting Fury. Doesn’t Jon have a “big payday” fight coming up against Stipe?

Do you think Elon Musk is superior to Usyk as a fighter because he has more money and could pay people to defend him with weapons?

as an unbiased viewer of this thread, I'd say LNS got his tiny burrito bent 90 degrees and baked in old refried bean slop.
Muzzies, Russians/Soviet Bloc are generally not lay-and-pray wrestlers, at least the ones at or near the top of their divisions at present.
Umar
Topuria
Islam
Shavkat
Belal
Arman
Merab
Belal
Khamzat
Magomed
All consistently exciting except Belal and sometimes Magomed out of that particular group.
Russia and even Muzzy-Russia has actually been really nice to watch, technique-wise and entertainment-wise. I personally welcome our Russia-Muzzy overlords.

I've been out of boxing for a little.
Is this Dubois dude that good?
@LNS
Well… I mean “kinda”. His best win before this was prob against Hrgovic for the vacated IBF belt. Hrgovic was undefeated at the time and he beat Zhilei Zhang, so he’s considered an elite fighter and was the favorite going into his bout against Dubois. Dubois is sometimes called Daniel “Dubious” because despite his power and ability, he was always considered a bit of a quitter. He quit against Joe Joyce, he kinda quit against Usyk… but since then he has done pretty well. And his recent destruction of AJ is a fantastic step in the right direction.
