I have zero recollection of Markieff Morris playing for the Lakers

Post by ElJorge »

Was randomly scrolling ESPN bball articles and saw that he had been re-signed by the Mavs. Okay neat. But then saw this part:

Morris has averaged 10.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 776 career regular-season games. He played all 21 postseason games for the Los Angeles Lakers when they won the title in the 2020 playoff bubble.

Dafuq? I can’t remember that dude on the Lakers for the life of me.

I don’t remember him either. I remember Dwight, Javale, Rondo, and even JR Smith. But Markeiff Morris? :noidea:

Is this one of those Mandela Effect thingies?

Keef was one of the unsung heroes of that title team. He could stand up against post 5s defensively allowing AD to roam and he could space as a 4 allowing javale and Howard to roll, consummate role player fit. I think he and Marcus are a great thought exercise for value. Marcus clearly being the “better” player while never achieving anything with PG and Kawhi because he wanted to get his shots while Keef won a championship being an important role player on a championship team.

Excellent take
