Those are Babe Ruth-on-steroids numbers... only that's what Ruth would have done for an entire season (if he juiced), not just a mere 15 games.

Judge isn’t facing 75 mph straight as an arrow fast balls from alcoholic coal miners who played baseball over the summer as a hobby. Not comparable at all.

Judge in 1923 would be 38-40 with 35 home runs in a 15 game span.

Yankees have an interesting decision upcoming. Can't really afford to let Soto go, but can they afford to keep him? You're going to wind up guaranteeing a guy probably at least 60% more than you did your franchise player, which is awkward as hell and the logic of which prevented them from offering Yamamoto more than they guaranteed Cole. And can they actually manage two 40m AAV guys on one team when the owner has called a $300m payroll unsustainable?

$600m is happening for Soto, the Yankees should match any high bid to end the suspense but that it a number which is going to make them uncomfortable.

Nice to see me being proven correct on the "Judge vs. Ohtani" debate.

Hopefully this slams the door shut on that debate for good. You all can't even default to the "muh muh muh pitching every fifth game" excuse anymore.

You were proven correct if this version of Judge, who is approximately 10-15% better a hitter than he was in 2022 and leaps and bounds better than he was in 2023, takes a time machine backwards in time to become more valuable than the Ohtani of the prior two seasons.

So what is the updated version of the previous excuses you guys were using?

We are three years into the current excuses, so an update is needed.

That would be a legit point if every other Hitter in the game was tearing the cover off the ball in the same manner Ruth was (while he was also pitching as well). As it stands Ruth was the only guy doing it.

He was clearly in a league of his own.

Interestingly if you combined Ohtani's 2022 Pit WAR (when he was last pitching healthy) with his 2024 Bat WAR (outside chance at a 50/50 season), he would be crushing Judge's fWAR 11.9 - 9.6

So the excuse is "if you were to replace reality with not-reality, Ohtani wins."

Okay. If you were to replicate Judge's last 15 games he'd be the greatest athlete in human history.

So still....Judge > Ohtani.

You're the one who did that, dude. No one ever (at least not since April) argued that 2024 Ohtani > 2024 Judge.

How does Judge's 2024 performance influence debates over their 2022-2023 performances lol?

"If you take Ohtani's pitching performance from game 119 in 2022, and his hitting performance in game 66 of 2023, and uhh uhh pretend he did that every game in a season, he would have won 162 games and hit more than 300 home runs with an .800 average which crushes what Judge is doing this year".
