Don’t give up meat my guy, that’s one of life’s greatest gifts. I hate cats because they have caused so much damage to the ecosystem on the tiny island I live on. I’m totally biased and can acknowledge that. In the united states it’s hard to see the damage they can do, but in a closed system that previously had no terrestrial carnivores, they really went to work. TNR doesn’t work, cat colonies don’t work, it’s up to those who adopt murder machines (cats) to be responsible pet owners, just like it’s up to people who have pit bulls/rottweilers/Doberman to be as well

Mostly a dog person, but we have a cat too.
I can understand the indoor only edict for the islands, but I feel it is cruel to the animal unless they have a catio or something.
Animals need to be in the outdoors.
And not all cats are killing machine monsters, that’s too broad a brush.

The head of the project that I worked on had two cats, they had a large catio and took the cats for walks with harness on them. To me, that’s responsible cat ownership. When I take my dogs out of the yard they are always on leashes, cats should be treated more or less the same. There are neighborhood cats that are always shitting and spraying in my garden beds, it’s absolutely disgusting and there’s no way their owners can stop them other than keeping them inside. You wouldn’t want a dog shitting in your food, so why as a society have we become ok with cats shitting in other people’s yard/food?

Cats are the best. So low maintenance. My cats come over for some quick pets and then they fuck right off. Feed themselves, shit and piss outside, entertain themselves, clean themselves… dogs are like having another kid. They’re so goddamn needy. Fuck’em!
