Babe Ruth's "called HR" Jersey set to become highest selling sports memorabilia ever

Post by thedangerouskitchen »

Nearly 100 years later and he's still the God and (let's be honest) the GOAT of MLB:

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/409 ... emorabilia

Ruth
Jordan
Gretzky
Payton

The Mount Rushmore of the 4 major American sports leagues... and yes you could argue LT/Brady/Montana for the NFL, but the other 3 guys are irrefutable.
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."

"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

Did you ever see Orr play?

No one thinks Payton is the GOAT NFL player other than delusional homers from Chicago and his family.

Mount Rushmore isn't just about the players' performance on the field/court... it's about their impact on the sport, their legacy, the respect / fear they instilled in their peers, lots of things.

Plus I clearly said you could argue a few different guys for the NFL, and Payton (as the greatest all-purpose/all-around Back in the history of the league) is absolutely one of them when you look at the entire picture and not just the "stats", like a typical arm-chair-couch-potato fan.

Brian Mitchell? Not that it matters but in the grand scheme of things you should have at least come close to clearing out your position as the definite number 1 (rb) if your going to be on or being considered a mount rushmore player. Unless said player is on the mount rushmore as well. Sanders and Brown could be considered just as good if not better than Payton. And they were just as impactful as Payton, you just live in a box.

A player who is barely top 5 at his position, but also the GOAT across all positions because he played in Chicago.

The similarities to Jordan are striking.

Clearly you struggle with the ability to comprehend what you read. Your problem.

As for Payton, he's THE greatest all-around/all-purpose Back in NFL history. In fact, he's the geatest all-around/all-purpose PLAYER in league history period, as there was nothing he couldn't do on the field: Run, Block, Pass, Catch... dude even returned punts and kickoffs. When he retired Payton owned a boatload of records ( ie; most Receiving Yards by a non-receiver, most Rushing yards, most all-purpose yards, etc... dude even played QB and threw for 8 TD's in his career).

CLEARLY the greatest all-around player in NFL history, and a perfectly legit contender for Mount Rushmore of the NFL (along with a few other players).

Facts.

Now get mad.
