It's telling that you can only reference supposed childhood reading habits when pretending to read with any regularity. There is nothing going on in the here and now lol

Re: Re-reading 1984
I chose to be a.library aid rather than sit in study hall.for that period...for two.years....all I did was read...I read everything under the sun...too many to name to be honest...I read everything from Helter Skelter to.Ask Alice to Leopold and Loeb law cases to medieval scripts and such....
All I did was read....also it was a boarding school so I took advantage of my privacy in the library and used the nice bathrooms to wack it
I did read Voltaire but that's not medieval scripts...and a lot of Shakespeare which I found to be.overrated as fuck...lots of pearl Buck who bores the shit out of me but I was interested in not to distant Chinese history and opium use
Romeo and Juliet is a some story...made over come...same with taming of the shrew
Othello etc...
Most could be wrapped up in two acts...no need to hear the long winded speils by the characters...they were written as plays so they could have enacted more action than dialogue...they just bored me but I had to read to.see what the hype was all about..I was a very curious and knowledge absorber kid...I.also got the highest grade in the senior class on the big final exam on US Government and economics.....without even studying, which was apparently a big dea..l.so when you clowns try claiming I'm lost or its over my head its indeed quite the opposite and quite natural and some to me

Re: Re-reading 1984
Orwell was describing mindless NPC's decades before the invention of video games.
"As he watched the eyeless face with the jaw moving rapidly up and down, Winston had a curious feeling that this was not a real human being but some kind of dummy. It was not the man's brain that was speaking, it was his larynx. The stuff that was coming out of him consisted of words, but it was not speech in the true sense: it was a noise uttered in unconsciousness, like the quacking of a duck."
"that she had without exception the most stupid, vulgar, empty mind that he had ever encountered. She had not a thought in her head that was not a slogan, and there was no imbecility, absolutely none that she was not capable of swallowing if the Party handed it out to her. 'The human sound-track' he nicknamed her in his own mind."
