Jordan retired the first time because of mental illness/fragility and the second time because he was PETRIFIED over the 95 percent likelihood of being exposed in the 1999 season with no Pippen, Rodman, and Jackson. For the first time since he was winning 0.00 playoff series a season....he'd actually have to win through his own merit instead of a gigantic superteam collective, and he knew losing would completely alter his legacy.

I was referring to 1999, not 1994.

But no, 1994 would not have been the easiest(96 was, given the superteam and complete weakness of the league, the weakest in had been since the early 50s). Jordan at that point was on the edge of going to an insane asylum, and the 1993 team was significantly less performing than the 1992 team. Note that Toni Kukoc wasn't really *that* good right out of the gate. Also note that the Rockets generally feasted on the Bulls during that first threepeat period, going 5-1 against the Bulls from 1991-1993. Hakeem's ascension was another reason Jordan retired in FEAR in 1993...because he wasn't man enough to actually take on a real challenge that could actually threaten the Bulls, that also contain a legendary figure.
