Ok here’s the verdict on Chicago style deep dish pizza.

Post by Alex_Murphy »

It’s ok. But it’s nothing to write home about. I will tell you it’s one of those things you need to try to enjoy right out of the oven because if it’s not consumed within the first 15 minutes, it’ll start to get cold and there’s no way you’re reheating a pizza that thick without burning it. Don’t hand me some slice of Chicago style deep dish pizza that’s been sitting around for hours. I’ll look at you like, what the hell are you doing? What is this, a sandwich? Where’s the rest of it?

Is it better than little Caesars and Papa John’s? Yes… but it is in no way better than Domino’s deep dish pizza not a chance in hell and I don’t care where you tell me to go. Domino’s deep dish pizza when done correctly shits all over the city of shitcago and all their pizza.

Bottom line is even if you do start off with a piping hot slice by the time you get to the crust you’ve consumed like 100 g of carbs and for what reason? What is the point of all that flavorless dough? Huh, tell me. Speaking of the crust, what the hell is that thing at the end what am I eating a fucking biscotti?

Well you had me right until the "Dominos" comment; I thought you were going to say "no way better than New York style".

Dominos, Little Ceasars and Papa John's???

:L :L :L

BTW, where did you go for the pizza?

I don’t remember the name but I got 1 thing slice and one slice of deep dish chitown style. The thin crust was different because there was something off about the dough. Then it hit me! They use the same dough on the deep dish for the thin crust only they flatten in out.

The dough they use for the deep dish ain’t like regular pizza dough it’s made to be thick and cook different. I compare it to pie or croissant dough/crust in that it’s softer and flakier. The thin crust I enjoyed after all is said and done the cheese and sauce ingredients were superb along with the seasoning. But that dough is no bueno.

I’ll fuck wit a deep dish about once a year. IDGAF if it’s a CaSsErOlE. It’s an explosion of flavor and tasty AF. I used to be a hater long ago but nowadays gimme that sausage and mushroom deep dish with the butter crust from Lou’s and I’ll go to town.

If you went to a Las Vegas Girodanos that was your god damn problem right there.

I really love pizza, but I almost never have it anymore for health reasons. I avoid most flour products for a bunch of reasons. So on those rare occasions when I do have pizza, it is either a cauliflower crust, or else a thin crust. A thousand calories of white flour dough is about as unhealthy as it gets for a ton of reasons I won't get into here. So no deep dish for this guy, even if I would find it tasty as fuck.

Off topic but as I get into my late 30s I started to adapt the diet you’ve brought up here. Essentially sticking with things grown naturally or have a mom, on top of cutting out most flour. Didn’t get any bad blood work or anything but I’ve always kinda ate like crap and figured I’m getting to that age where pretty soon I’ll no longer be able to “get away with it” so wanted to make a change.

I definitely don’t follow it 100% but probably 80-85% but god damn have I not felt this good in years.

Awesome guy! Really glad to hear that. A ton of people walk around feeling like crap half the time and don't understand why. We aren't genetically designed to eat ultra processed shit. We end up spiking our insulin levels all the time, creating constant inflammation in the body, screwing up our mitochondria who want "good fuel" and not a pile of sugar and flour. Combine a good diet with good sleep hygiene and a half decent exercise regimen (doesn't need to be that much to get most of the benefit) and you are 98% of the way to feeling the way you should.

Your 85/15 rule is great. I'm a little higher than that, probably around 90-95% but I definitely have a bit of OCD in me.

If the whole population followed what you are doing, our health care costs would plummet, our obesity and type 2 diabetes rates would fall dramatically within months and society in general would get more focused and productive. Trying to live on shitty fuel, crappy sleep and barely moving for exercise is why we have crazy obesity and type 2 diabetes rates that just keep climbing. The vast majority of americans your age are on their way to type 2 diabetes without having a clue. They are becoming insulin resistant and that doesn't show up on normal blood work until the horse is out of the barn.

Anyways, good on you young man. Spread the gospel.

I live life to the fullest Artie. I have more energy and life than most guys in their 30s. And once you wean yourself off of ultra processed food and get back to eating real food, your taste buds change. I really enjoy pretty much everything I eat. I'm not missing out on anything.

I started to lose weight when I quit eating pasta. Lately, I have eaten more than I wish to talk about and gained 15 pounds back.

Your trolling is obvious, fatso... when someone asks you, hey artman what's shakin', you answer two cheeks and two chins... and two big fat tits.

...and we've ALL seen the (many) pics, so don't even try to deny it.

Tdk is a clueless imbicile living in the past and reliant on cherry picked pics and not actual valid pics. Kinda like how he only gets fed whatever his cult news sources feed him about Trump that makes him shine but hide the actual reality.

You can't possibly be that stupid...oh but he/she is
