Ultimately, if a Chihuahua snaps it may result in some minor cuts requiring stitches; if a pitbull snaps people may die.

I get the logic behind the ban.
That's kind of the test I would give someone. There are tons of great pit bulls BUT...let's say you have a 2 year old child and you are told you will have to leave your kid alone in a room with a dog for 5 minutes. You are told both dogs are extremely well behaved, well trained and fantastic with kids. One room has a labrador retriever and the other room has a pit bull. Which room are you putting your kid in?
The labrador retriever every time.

Most pitbulls are well-behaved, but it's not worth the risk given the capability that the dog has.

I don't know if it's true or not but there's stories of pitbulls killing coyotes.

Out of all the big dog breeds ive owned, my pit bull was the most gentle. I get the argument of the repercussions in the event if they were to snap, but my Rottweiler was definitely stronger and my Malinois is just way more agile and a literal weapon that law enforcement uses. Malinois are 100% more dangerous than pit bulls

It's tue. A single coyote doesn't stand a chance against a Pitbull... or any large dog breed really. Of course coyotes run in packs, so 3-4 of them together would take down almost any dog.

I think you are nuts for owning one, unless you got the dog as a puppy. So very unpredictable.

Well it's half Pitbull/ half American Bully, and yeah we got her as a puppy (6 weeks old). Plus I know the parents as well (a female Pitbull and a male American Bully... and yes, they are also both very friendly, especially the Bully... talk about a creampuff. lol. The female Pit can get a little edgy if someone she doesn't know acts in an aggressive manner toward someone in the household, but that's just the protective nature of the animal if it senses a threat to "her pack". Overall both the parents have great dispositions and are wonderful with kids... and their offspring (my dog) is the same way.

If she met you she'd lick you into submission.

I knew I was a target with this one haha. I won’t say they are the safest breed out there, but from personal experience, I’d trust a pit bull with a child over a malanois, Akita, rottie, healers, or a retriever. Those breeds are much more nippy. I love my malanois, thank goodness he’s so smart because he’s a fucking terror when I let him go off.

You just have a weak ass dog who is whipped on peanut butter. Your dumb dog would get bullied by a Chihuahua. Just look at its owner. Hasn’t seen pussy since the Reagan administration.

My ridgeback, my rottie, my pit, and my malanois have all fought off aggressive hunting dogs, only the pit and ridgeback suffered more damage than their attacker. Rosie and brego could have easily killed the other dogs if it weren’t for intervention. There’s a reason why pit bulls aren’t used as K9 dogs, malinois are way more dangerous

HAHAHA... this makes me laugh because I also have a female Chihuahua and she absolutely owns the Pit-Bully!!! It's hilarious to watch this little 7-pound dog put her in her place.

I would personally press the button that lowered the vat of all pitbulls into a meat grinder. One story about a pitbull mauling a child to death or beyond recognition is too many and unfortunately we get plenty annually. I feel like the people who get caught up on the fact that the pitbulls they own or know are gentle are as senseless as the ones advocating for mass immigration. When people argue that pitbulls are safe based on their personal experience with one, they ignore the high rates of maulings. Similarly advocating for mass immigration because most immigrants are decent, while overlooking instances of violence by some, also ignores broader risks.

Naw it wasn’t like that. I made this thread after going down the “pitbull attacking people” rabbit hole on YouTube, and then read some articles about them being banned in the U.K. After I made the topic I started thinking “who would own one of these monsters?” and I came up with you, Shill, AK (who I got wrong), and Phuture (who I also got wrong I think).
