Nadal-Djokovic this morning. Unfortunately I don't think Rafa has what it takes anymore, he has pretty stunning power off the ground (still) but he is moving like a geriatric. There is no turning back the clock, if Djokovic is at his 75% he should take this fairly handily. I think getting it to 3 sets would be a great achievement from Rafa and I hope he'll have plenty left in the tank for doubles because he is the stronger doubles player easily on the team.

Joker absolutely destroying Rafa. Light work.
His team should throw in the towel this is getting embarrassing.

Nice job by Nadal, showed his classic fighting spirit to the finish. At the end of the day you can't turn back the clock and given he moves like he's in mud that's about all that you could really hope for, a few epic points and a run at a set. Might have even had a chance in a third. As farewells go that was way better than Federer getting bageled by Hurkacz at Wimbledon at least.

I think Rafa hangs on a couple more months and retires at Davis Cup in Malaga. Still has a real chance to medal here in doubles this week.

As for Djokovic, he will need to be much better if he hopes to defeat Zverev or Alcaraz. Easy to dictate play against an ancient Nadal who cannot move and hits with no depth for a set and a half as a result. Won't be the same against either of the guys I mentioned.

I watched that yesterday, too. Was a good match. USA almost pulled off the comeback.

Watching basketball 3 on 3. USA vs Serbia.
Not bad. A lot like a park half court basketball game. Scrappy.
The Serbians elbow game is strong.
Jimmer Fredette sighting!

I saw that. They said he was a HS volleyball phenom, but chose basketball for college.

Ram and Krajicek looked way stronger and more comfortable, the experience edge was evident. Alcaraz got badly exposed. Tough draw ultimately, they probably medal had they gotten Murray/Evans draw.

I really despise Noah Lyles but I am rooting for him to break Bolt records big time. Already seeing massive amounts of butthurt on X over the possibility. I will consider the games a win for USA even if China wins out in golds (which appears a real possibility looking at USA's weird distribution at the moment lagging behind the usual pace in gold) if Lyles breaks the 200m record.

Probably Djokovic's best match played in a few years, and in several years on clay, and his best match of the season by miles.

Japan vs Italy men’s volleyball.
Japan up 2-0 and Italy comes back. Wild, tight game.
France also comes back after being down 2 games against Germany.

Canada shit the bed against France in men's basketball. We should have curb stomped them. Most of the team forgot to shoot for the full game. Very disappointing.

Watched Mondo Duplantis of Sweden set the world record in the pole vault yesterday. Honestly it’s one of the few track & field events I really enjoy. Tried it once in high school and ate shit like a clumsy oaf… so I have respect for anyone that can pull it off.

The height that he was clearing the bar in the earlier jumps was insane.
