107 people. Strong sample size….

107 people can be an adequate sample size (in a general sense) if the magnitude of effect is large.

I'd like to see what the effect size and confidence intervals were like.

A small effect with wide intervals doesn't mean much, even if it's statistically significant within the study sample. You'll get statistically significant findings sometimes simply as a result of random variation.

Stay in your lane on this one dude. We'll wait for a math guy before we dive into the study here.

What is "experiencing strong sensations" and how does one quantify that?

What I posted is barely 101-level insight.

If anyone wanted to goof around and see how p-values change (at a given correlation) as a function of sample size, they can do so here:

https://www.danielsoper.com/statcalc/ca ... aspx?id=44

The larger the effect, the less sample size you need to reach statistical significance and some level of confidence in the basic idea two things are associated with one another. The smaller the effect, the more sample size you need (all else equal obviously).

N = 107 would be essentially nothing if the effect was small, but potentially surplus if the effect was large.

I doubt the effect in question was that large though, as a gut feeling.

later the report seems to suggest it depends on what type of music you listen to. We already knew people who like punk rock, bob marley, mariachi music, etc are morons.
