Only recent player was Klay. Lakers weren’t about to overpay for DeRozan lol. CP3? Where would the Lakers even get the cap space to sign him? We’re already right at the second apron. Zero cap room to do anything other than a sign & trade.

And Kawhi was back in 2019 so who even cares? Poor guys knees are ready to explode at any time. He makes Issacs look healthy.

He said he’d take a paycut for Klay or a “high impact player”. Who else was there? James “washed up” Harden? Most of those signs & trades would’ve required sending players out coupled with picks. Not worth it for a 34 year old Harden or a 35 year old DeRozan.

The only guy who actually turned down the Lakers for equal money was Kawhi but as we all know that was a huge blessing in disguise, Lakers won a title and Kawhi fell apart. Otherwise everyone that the fat, autistic cuban is naming got paid multiples of what the Lakers could have offered. Harden got $35m AAV lol. Lakers couldn't have afforded any of these guys and even with a LeBron paycut and a sign-and-trade where DLo was traded Klay would have still needed to accept less money with higher taxes to be a Laker.

The Lakers get more for less. The Magic get less for more and max out every single free agent they have after losing to the Cavaliers in round 1.
