I watched the highlights. Someone in the comments said “looks like two drunk uncles fighting at the family bbq”

embarrassing, then someone is calling out Alex Pereira to fight next. MMA dudes seriously have to stop boxing. It's cringe...and boring. Stick to the superior sport of MMA and stay in the UFC.

I think it was AJ that said Pereira should try boxing. But I don’t think it was a callout. TBH that’d go very poorly for ol’ Alex. AJ is the guy who put Ngannou on life support.CleveTown™ wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 12:19 pmembarrassing, then someone is calling out Alex Pereira to fight next. I honestly forgot about this.
I can't blame anyone for getting the bag, but I have basically no interest in MMAers doing shitty boxing.
I would have more interested in a sub-grappling match between them, but of course that would generate basically no revenue.

Don't you think Masvidal would get rolled up by Nate if they grappled?Bush4Ever. wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 3:24 pm I honestly forgot about this.

The only grappling-based aspect of martial arts that Jorge is good at is his takedown defense. At least from what I've seen.

Masvidal is actually pretty solid defensively. He showed a pretty fair amount in his fight with Maia. IIRC he reversed him at one point and showed pretty good submission awareness/defense.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 11:34 pm

I think the odds of it being low-offense and boring are a bit higher than Nate dominating outright. It would be a little different if Nate had anything resembling offensive wrestling. If Masvidal won the TD battle and then played conservatively from top I think it would be competitive. Just boring.
