So to give some quick clarification… NO there’s literally no reason for me to have created this except boredom, autism, nerdiness, etc etc etc. This is more of a bball exercise with the question “how much parity can I make in the league with a set of specific rules?”.
Second… the “rules” were adjusted as I made these teams but they’re still reasonably OG from when I first started.
Third… the “goal” was to create an amalgamation of sorts (think “modern space and pace” combined with boomer “old school tough nosed defense”). Lots of 3s and movement, but also hard fouls and legalized hand checking.
Fourth… this is just the west coast teams. I’m about 85% with the east coast teams. I also have benches that I’m not gonna include for the time being. So for now this is just the west coast starters.
Rules
1. 58 games played minimum.
2. After NBA-ABA merger (1976).
3. Player positions are locked (I understand that players move positions during the course of a season… but in this scenario what position Basketball-Reference has them listed at is what position they’re going to play).
4. One Superstar (“Superstar” defined in this context as “3+ All Star selections”, maybe an MVP, multiple All NBA teams, etc).
5. One 1-2x All Star sidekick.
6. All Star/Superstar must be season he was actually voted-in.
So to simplify: one superstar and one sidekick, and three average starters. Total PPG for each team is approximately 80-90, give or take.
Thoughts/opinions/questions? Changes you’d make?

Re: Y’all wanna see some fantasy bball autism?
Good post.
Out of the teams listed I like Phoenix, Golden State, Los Angeles (Clippers), and Denver the most.

What are your thoughts about AI over Embiid? I really wrestled with that one.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:58 pm Good post.

Embiid is a more efficient offensive player than Iverson and head and shoulders better as a defender.ElJorge wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 8:15 pmWhat are your thoughts about AI over Embiid? I really wrestled with that one.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:58 pm Good post.

I love AI but Embiid is better.
Re: Y’all wanna see some fantasy bball autism?
Ok I’ll change it then lol… I had picked AI for nostalgia reasons and cuz he made the Finals… but yea Embiid is better overall.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 8:43 pmEmbiid is a more efficient offensive player than Iverson and head and shoulders better as a defender.ElJorge wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 8:15 pmWhat are your thoughts about AI over Embiid? Naw… it deserved the appropriate amount of attention IMO.
Thanks tho.
