2024 Celtics Finals will get about as much air time on NBA TV over the next decade as 2017 or 2018 GSW. There’s only one in the last decade that makes people stop flipping and watch and that’s 2016.

2016 was a historic finals for reasons already mentioned. But it could have been more so if the end of game 7 wasn't mostly a brick fest. Yes, LeBron's block was iconic and Kyrie made the huge 3, but aside from that, guys were mostly shitting the bed missing shots in the last third of the 4th quarter.

Edit: I just went back and checked. The score was 89-89 with 4:39 to go after Klay made a layup. In the last 4:39, LeBron made 1 FT, and Kyrie made a 3. That's it. Golden State got skunked and both teams were bricklaying. Final score 93-89. As great a storyline as the Cavs coming back to win after being down 3-1 is in general, it takes a lot of the shine away for me that both teams choked down the stretch.
