If you had told me in 2005 there would be a day where I was not only totally devoid of passion for Star Wars, but that I would also harbor a dislike of it, I would have told you that you were crazy.

I just finished the first season of Rings of Power and it was OK. C to C+.

The writing and character development were really mid. Plus that "twist" was as predictable as you could imagine.

I'll still watch season 2 though because ultimately I enjoy LOTR-themed content.

I gave up on Ashoka. I just didn’t find it interesting.
I’m OK with the Acolyte, although their need to push for non traditional characters makes it unrealistic. Not that Star Wars is realistic.

I haven't read much of Tolkien's work (I intend on it soon) but Rings of Power allegedly isn't faithful to canon. I don't even mean with the diversity in the casting. I mean in terms of the actual story of how things happened; so not only is the storytelling mediocre but it isn't even true to his work.

It's still not an awful show like others seem to think, but I understand the gripes about it being disingenuous to the source material.

My son is too young for it so I'm lacking the motivation to watch it. He loves Mario but I try not to get him too exposed to superhero violence at this point.
