I had been indifferent about the Russia-Ukraine war, but I did recognize that Russia's hand was forced to a degree, because of the US/NATO provocation. However I am now heavily anti-Russia after the Russians had the audacity to condemn Israel's actions in Gaza in front of the UN, even after Israel refused US requests to supply Ukraine with weapons.

My un-biased assessment compiled from the various sources I've been watching:

• Russians making extremely slow progress on the outer edges of Ukraine.

• Complete stalemate and Russians getting pushed back near Kyiv (the capital).

• Russians resorting to indiscriminate shelling and air-strikes of civilians buildings and gatherings because they are frustrated at their lack of military progress.

• Looking like Afghanistan 2.0 for Russia, unfortunately against a much better trained army. A superior foe, combined with guerilla tactics has smashed parts of their invasion and supply lines.

• All together a very bad look for the Russian military. Most people considered them the 2nd strongest military in the world, and they've looked completely amateur so far. Their logistics have been abysmal and soldier morale is overall low.

2 years later and none of this has changed lol.

Current status is a stalemate in Eastern Ukraine with neither side making any meaningful progress, just throwing bodies into the meat grinder.

Western monetary support is waning, and focus has shifted more towards Israel.

How long can Ukraine hold out before they begin negotiations?

Russia will surely "win" (whatever that means in this case) due to sheer numbers, but at what cost? Previously thought to be the unquestioned 2nd best military in the world, and now their paper tiger status has been exposed. In addition they are hitching themselves to China economically which will ultimately be a disaster.

What a major miscalculation by Russia.
