Wow, Boras messed up, Bellinger 3/80 with two opt-outs back to the Cubs. Fat L for Boras, that's honestly a great deal for Chicago. Yankees would have been much better off signing Bellinger to that and keeping King and the other guys they gave up for Soto.
Well played by Chicago. Good for them. Fuck Borass.
Fair deal. Opt outs give him some incentive and upside.
Did Boras really do that badly? The only reason I don't mind it from his perspective and Bellinger's is the two opt outs. So if Bellinger stinks out the joint like he did for the two years prior to last year, he is still guaranteed $80 million, but if he has another great year, then it was a just a one year $30 million deal. Doesn't seem that bad.
We don't really know what he could have gotten but a guarantee of well over $80m with the same 1st-year opt-out would have felt like a great deal early in the winter. Boras likely held out for his $200m+ and never got close.
I wouldnt be shocked to see Strider, Fried, and Sale finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Cy Young voting, and Acuna, Riley, and Olson finish 1,2,3 in the MVP voting...
That is how good the Braves are gonna be this year...
Bellinger was always going to need another prove it year after his horrible 2021 and 2022 (and let’s be honest he wasn’t particularly good in 2020 either)
Even last year he was good but it’s not like he set the world on fire. He and Boras were fools if they actually thought any team was going to back up the brink truck after his first semi good year since 2019.
End of day, Bellinger still comes out a winner since he’s going to clear 150 million in career earnings as a minimum but Boras has an egg on his face.

He was going for $200m so yeah came up way short. But this is a fair deal for both sides.
So Ohtani gets married and goes so far as to keep the identity of his wife a secret lol? What a weirdo, I thought Jeter was a dork with his 20-years of robotic answers for the media but this is a next level attempt to avoid being even remotely interesting or to build a bigger personal brand for the benefit of the game.

Horrible news for the Atlanta Braves as their daddy has re-upped for 3/126. Going to blow past $300m career earnings if he's healthy after this deal.

Good to hear...I want him to be there as the Braves march to another World Series this year...

I'm happy with that deal honestly.
I like it for the Phillies. Bigly reduced risk paying him only through 37.

Exactly. Let him earn his last contract if he has anything left by then.
