I feel the same way. I have a feeling something happened though where he had to hide the evidence of his posting.
Just curious what that can be. He was angry and would name call a bit before but nothing to scandalous. Mostly just said he owned people’s soul and so-so was dumb as bricks. Plus he was independently rich and like 70. He had the fuck you money if some dude threaten to tell his Asian girlfriend that he maybe slipped and called someone a fag 5 years ago on a small message board.
I talked with Grizz a little while ago in PM about "board things" (actually, he messaged me).
The reason he left isn't anything dramatic. I'm sure he's doing great.
He actually told me like six months ago he was going to be leaving "pretty soon". I thought he might have decided to stay on, but I guess he finally pulled the trigger on leaving.

I can actually see him doing that lol. He would always send me a PM when something I said bothered him. It was the weirdest shit. He absolutely despised the fact I would agree with Atilius, Ripper, or Zombie’s posts lol. He’d beg me to stop countless times saying they’re part of a sect in our society that drives nutcases to shoot up public places or some shit. I ignored most of it, or just tell him to chill the fuck out after some wall of text PM.
He was a genuinely angry guy whenever challenged on anything. He had blind spots that are always fun to point out when one’s ego is as big as his.
Grizz is the perfect example of someone who can’t handle a small community.
Back in the ESPN days and even when this board was larger, he had enough people stroking his ego to satisfy him. As we got smaller and smaller those people left and others for some reason would purposely start to disagree with him to get a reaction (not sure who would do such a thing) but his own biases and self perception couldn’t see that and his ego simply couldn’t handle it.
I hate losing people but good riddance in this case.
You guys are being too harsh. Grizz has a good heart and we only have so many sane conversationalists to spare here. I'm a little shell shocked by his decision and a little hurt that he didn't offer me so much as a goodbye.
Let's just make a pact here, anyone else thinking of leaving, don't pull this ghosting thing. Tell us what you're feeling and we'll talk it out.

I understand, I would hazard a guess that he felt he was fanning the flames of insanity and didn't want to be responsible for or participate in the dealings of some of our darker members and subject matter. Please blink twice if I'm in the ballpark here
He left because he hated seeing what he considered the “reasonable posters” here cozy up to what he considered the board loons. His problem was he took this board way too serious. This was never meant for him and he always stuck out or came across awkward. Like you wouldn’t expect Raj or Bizz Chief or Millco to have crossed over to this board and adjusted. Same w Grizz, he just never fit in here, and it took him 10 yeare to realize this … imho.

Obviously what you're saying is true to a degree. But like every family, not all of the puzzle pieces always fit perfectly. Grizz is a good man and I found his presence here validating on some level. I wish that he had found a way to make it work, but as they say, it is what it is.
On a related noted, what about letting griff back now? I stood by grizz without hesitation in that conflict but if grizz is gone we could use some of the volume lost
