If he continues pitching/hitting he'll blow out his arm in a year or two and his career will be over. If he gives up pitching and becomes a full-time hitter... is he worth $70-mil a year???

I don't know what it would take, but seems like you would need the perfect set of circumstances. You still won't get many guys who are going to pitch and hit regularly. Also, if Ohtani was a white guy I don't think he gets anywhere near this type of contract. Is a white dude who does the exact same thing drive more interest globally more than a Japanese dude? Right now, it's a no. Would a Latino player even command this interest? Seems like a no as well.
To get this type of money you have to be able to expand interest globally.
Not to mention percentages going to agent, publicists, lawyers etc..end of day Ohtani probably “only” sees about 250 million of that 700

Still a stupid amount of money and I’m sure he has a savvy teams of investors that will make good returns and doesn’t have a posse of leeches looking for handouts so he will still probably be a billionaire one day.

The only way this deal works in the Dodgers favor is if Ohtani hits and pitches for at least half of the life of that contract. the Dodgers are one of the few teams that can afford this, but the reality is, it is diminishing returns with the Dodgers off the field...
It does seem like the Dodgers got spooked by the Toronto reports and bid against themselves to some degree. Clearly Ohtani wanted LAD all the way as it checked all of his boxes. So it makes perfect sense that his agents put on that bit of theater to squeeze more cash out.
