Jerry Krause may have been a kielbasa-eating porker but his scouting acumen was top notch. Bamboozling the Sonics to take a NAIA kid at #5 then landing one of the GOAT modern Euros in the middle of the 2nd round in Kukoc. Mike doesn't sniff 6 titles without those two. As much as he despised him MJ owes a bulk of his success to Krause and to a lesser extent Marty Blake for tipping Jerry off to Pippen. Blake also discovered Dennis Rodman among others.

Hard to know for sure when he crossed the "if he got hit by a bus today, he's still in the HOF" standard, but whatever doubts about him as an individual should have been erased after 1994.

And yes, Krause had the social skills of a fat neurotic autismo, but anyone who denies he collected the pieces for the Bulls to win titles is simply lying.

Other than Jordan, none of the main pieces were obvious ones, and some of them were flatly unpopular. Pippen was a "who is that guy" player. Jackson was seen as someone on the edges of the coaching fraternity. Bill Cartwright being added with Oakley being dropped was wildly unpopular at first (by Jordan especially), but it became obvious it was a good move. Rodman was a wild card, etc...

At the conclusion of the 94 season is when Pippen solidified his HOF status... you don't lose the undisputed GOAT (in the absolute prime of his career) 6 weeks before the start of the season and then proceed to lead your team (on Offense AND Defense) to 55 wins with Pete freakin' Myers as the replacement player, and then come within one of THE worst calls in NBA history from leading said team to (at least) the ECF unless you're a bonified, certifiable HOFER.

Pippen showed how much he matured and learned (from Jordan) during that 94 season... and IMO he should have been MVP and DPOY that year considering the circumstances, and the fact that everyone at the time automatically assumed the Bulls would just fall off the map and die without the GOAT.

Jordan played with George Gervin, Charles Oakley, Richard Hamilton, Christian Laettner, Horace Grant, and BJ Armstrong.

ALL of those players listed a) played with Jordan, b) had zero all-star selections with Jordan, and c) had all-star selections apart from Jordan when Jordan wasn't on their team.

Grant and Armstrong being all-star level talent technically means Jordan played with three all-stars, one of them being about a top 30 player all-time, and a GOAT or near-GOAT coach.

I've been telling this board for years that LeCommie = a little bigger version of Pippen (with far inferior Defense of course) playing in a softer era where the rules in place cater to his style of play (unlike Pip, who played in an inside-out Big Man era with physical Defense and less spacing).

As a Bulls fan and HUGE Pippen fan I would have LOVED if that happened... but the fact remains even withOut that bogus foul (and a presumed Bulls win, even thouigh the game was tied at the time), it was only Game 5 of the Semi's, with the series tied 2-2.

So for you to assume Pippen leads the Bulls to a 6-7 game series win over the Knicks (and then beats the Pacers in the ECF and Rockets in the Finals) just means that you too finally realize Pippen = LeCommie (minus Scottie's GOAT level Defense of course) if he played in a physical Big Man era with less spacing.
