I consider myself a big NBA fan and I don't know shit about this either.
I honestly don't care about it. Seems irrelevant.

Adam Silver was on Good Morning America this morning trying to explain it. I still have no idea. He basically said soccer does this so the European players understand it and the American players are starting to come around (lie)....whatever any of that means.lettherebehouse wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 7:10 pm Can one of you nba fans please explain this fkn tournament to me like I’m retarded. I don't get it, thinking of going to the one in Vegas but I don't even understand who is playing or what I get. The first day is pretty much sold out while the second is not.

What the fuck does this even mean? Giant image?
You still haven’t addressed the pathetic World Series ratings that humiliated the MLB in front of the entire world. Even Madness has the balls to take his Ls like a man.

Re: NBA in season tournament group play tonight...
How were the WS ratings pathetic lol? I didn't even watch one second of the WS, everyone knew it was the worst matchup ever, how would the ratings be good if even a huge fan like me didn't care to watch? Would anyone tune into an Orlando Magic vs. Houston Rockets Finals, which would be the equivalent?
Considering the matchup, the ratings were fantastic. People who aren't retarded know that the MLB Playoff ratings were astronomically good. Astros-Rangers had the best ALCS G1 since 2010 and the best LCS period since the Mets were in it which isn't fair to compare against. Braves-Phillies had the best DS numbers since the last time we saw Yankees-Redsox or Dodgers-Giants. Huge numbers to go along with the biggest rise in ticket sales in three decades.

The Nuggets vs. Heat were an even worse box office draw and it managed to not completely embarrass itself at the same level of the World Series.
Oh and BTW:

The ratings will be worse than the World Series, it will be awesome

The worst part about this is that some team out there is gonna raise a banner to the rafters if they win, as well as display the trophy prominently. Especially those franchises who have never won anything.

Again, how would Orlando Magic vs. Houston Rockets do? Everyone knew it would be a ratings disaster, you seem to respect MLB and the World Series even more than I do that you think the ratings are noteworthy. It was a historically awful matchup and deserved bad ratings, I didn't watch at all.

The Nuggets vs Heat is a historically awful matchup. It’s just as bad if not worse than Orlando vs. Houston. Jokic is the least marketable superstar since Duncan and Jimmy Butler is a character actor, not a leading man.
You were predicting that it would have worse ratings than the the World Series. What happened?

"Historically awful" the Heat are one of the marquee franchises of the NBA and Jokic is the best player in the league lol. Nice try idiot. Not many people could name a Diamondback with a gun to their head. The WS went from potentially record-breaking in a Phillies-Astros rematch to maybe the worst in history in the blink of an eye.
