Cohen should have driven Judge's price up to a half billion for the Yankees.
Mets and Yankees colluded and agreed not to go after each other's FA. Eppler is a cashman disciple so there will be heavy collusion moving forward.
Am I crazy for thinking that really only helps the Yankees?
Why does Cohen care about the price?
I hear where you're coming from but I think he and Steinbrenner are just on good terms more than anything else. In any event the Mets were focused on deGrom/Verlander when the Judge suitors were establishing themselves so it is what it is.
Worst contract of the offseason lol. Dansy is such a mid player it's insane, I was really hoping Atlanta would bring him back at some idiotic price like this
This makes me feel even better about Nimmo's deal. In retrospect the Springer and Realmuto deals were unbelievable value.
What does the JD Martinez deal mean for LA resetting?

Well first we have to see what happens with Bauers appeal. If they get stuck paying him this season then they will need a small salary dump to stay below the tax line. Unless Texas wants to trade for him lol.

He will be reinstated, so who does LAD need to dump?

Let me crunch some numbers.
Dumping chris taylor would get them under. I would weep.
I love the fuck you attitude about the tax from Cohen but how long is this sustainable. Mets will be in red by hundreds of millions likely. How many years of that is Cohen willing to go?
It’s still pending the physical though, right? Did the health concern scare off the Giants? The numbers look similar so it’s not like the Mets outbid them.
