True. You just need to style your life to work for you to achieve some form of contentment. If you are a thrill seeker than you need to adjust your life accordingly. The more boring you are the easier it is to reach contentment.

Yes.
God calls us to be holy, which doesn't necessarily equate to happy.

Re: Do you agree?
That's actually an interesting question.
I can see and readily accept a good life not having to be a happy one. Especially in the past.
But not being meaningful is a harder leap for me, at least on the surface.

Re: Do you agree?
Nope.
Need at least one or the other.
Although sustained happiness is tough to achieve. Our brains dont produce enough dopamine. Any extended dopamine hit leads to a drought, which could make us miserable on a perfectly fine day. Kind of like a hangover.
Imagine being so stupid you dedicate your life to a fairytale written thousands of years ago (infidel)

It makes zero sense. Living an unhappy meaningless existence can still be a good life? Lol noBush4Ever. wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 8:54 pm That's actually an interesting question.

If you live a life of duty does that not inherently imply it was meaningful?AtiliusRegulus wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 2:21 pm truth. Check out the life of St. Paul. The good life consists of Duty + Contentment

i suppose a pawn is a chess piece with some meaning and value, but in the context of religion, there is no king piece on the boardPhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 10:43 pmIf you live a life of duty does that not inherently imply it was meaningful?AtiliusRegulus wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 2:21 pm truth.
