Not a huge oyster fan but I get it and I do enjoy fried oysters if done right with the right dipping sauce....these elite jewels can be found at the Trolley Stop on St Chaes...also the best real gumbo ever...most places taste like canned campbells....
You will notice the difference when you have real deal gumbo

Walked around Bourbon Street and then down to Jackson Square and even the nicer buildings looked dumpy.

The food is fantastic though.

Oh yeah.....most of New Orleans is old, poor and decrepit.

The only reasons to really visit there is food and drink.
