Duke always gets favored, what a fucking joke.
Re: lol @ Duke moving up 6 spots after losing.
No shit huh, Coach K just has everyone by the balls somehow. They favor them in games, polls, everything.jjgator wrote:People are so angry that Florida is an elite basketball program. I'm surprised they didn't put Duke ahead of Florida.

I am usually not one for excuses but the reffing in that game favored Syracuse heavily.
Duke played well enough to win WITHOUT Parker in for the last few minutes of regulation and through OT.

Duke beat Pitt at Pitt and then nearly beat Syracuse at Syracuse with our 3 best players fouling out by games' end and another no-call hack on Hood's dunk attempt.
Yeah, the jump in the polls was warranted. It was a good week for Duke basketball.

It might be a bit much, but Duke did come closest to beating the current #1 this year on the road. Maybe that's what got them up. They also romped past 4 conference opponents before the Cuse game - one of whom was ranked and all of whom have winning records.

True but that still happened and it wasn't influenced by the referees, unlike the mystery call to foul Parker out, the no call on the dunk attempt by Hood, and the flagrant foul at the end.deezna10 wrote:Duke was lucky as fuck it went to overtime with that 3 ballPhutureDynasty wrote:I am usually not one for excuses but the reffing in that game favored Syracuse heavily.

Yes but they went 1-1 this week. They didn't jump 6 spots from those previous 2 games before the pitt game.Havlicekstealsit wrote:It might be a bit much, but Duke did come closest to beating the current #1 this year on the road. Coach K is very overrated.
Re: lol @ Duke moving up 6 spots after losing.
LOL at the rankings in general.
It appears the trend is that you play in a weaker conference, get more wins, and move up in the rankings. Outside of Syracuse, you've got the leader of a weak Pac-12, SEC, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, and Big East (all in that order).

I believe he should accomplish more than he has, with the recruits he's had.Robceltsfan wrote:Max wrote:Coach K is very overrated.

I'd love for Izzo to get the guys Krzyzewski gets year in, year out(as would every other fan base).
Re: lol @ Duke moving up 6 spots after losing.
Duke has had the weakest title in the past decade plus against Butler. Neither of those teams should have been there. Ugly.

I don't know what more you expect him to do. And part of coaching IS recruiting. He built a dynasty and has had more success than any other school during his tenure at Duke.

I don't buy into that. You can believe that, that's fine. I respect Coach K and Duke as a program, but I think they've under delivered considering their talent.Robceltsfan wrote:Max wrote:I believe he should accomplish more than he has, with the recruits he's had.Robceltsfan wrote:

I'll take Izzo over Krzyzewski any day of the week, but that's just me.
