I'd probably place Parish and Yao on similar ground. Probably give Yao the nod simply because he was clearly the better offensive player between the two.

Depends on what I'm looking for out of my center.

If I'm making my center the centerpiece of my offense....I'm probably taking Yao.

If I'm going to focus my scoring on the wings and the perimeter....I'm taking prime Dwight Howard by a country mile.

I guess it depends on era too. I like Parish at that anchor spot in his era, and I don't think either Yao or Howard could have been as effective. In today's game, I'd package all three of them in trade for a 6'10" guy who can shoot 3s.
