I got the J&J vaccine yesterday and this morning I had the chills and was throwing up. Mostly dry heaving as my stomach was empty. It also really messed with my mental state too. Made me feel really depressed and anxious.
Ironically I was asymptomatic back in December when I got Covid but not for the vaccine obviously.
Hoping that was the worst of it.
Figured I'd let you guys and gals know my experience with it.
Hope everyone is OK.

Why are you getting the vaccine if you already had covid?

Why did you get the vaccine? You’re going to have to get another vaccine for the South Africa variant. Neither your previous COVID illness nor the vaccine you just took provide any protection against that, and it’s spreading rapidly here now. Will be the dominant strain within 2 months.

I heard having Covid doesn't guarantee you have the antibodies to not get it again. Some have apparently had it twice. There's mutated strains apparently.
The vaccine doesn't guarantee you don't get it either but I was looking to add another safety measure.

I've never heard of that but I did know new strains were a possibility.Uncontroversial wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 3:06 pm Why did you get the vaccine? I like the idea of extra protection but being that you are fairly young with no underlying issues (I assume), and having no symptoms when you were infected with covid I thought you would have passed on it.PhutureDynasty wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 3:08 pmI heard having Covid doesn't guarantee you have the antibodies to not get it again. Of course you never know how this virus will play out in the future. I know someone that needs a lung transplant after getting covid and she was in her early thirties.
How did you jump the queue to get the vaccine ahead of the priority groups?

Got the Moderna on Thursday.
Heavy fatigue and achey about 24 hours later. A bit of congestion. Shot site hurt.
Didn’t stop me from doing anything. Did a long mountain bike ride this morning.
It’s all good.
