Beal or Lavine would be pretty devastating for the rest of the league.

I thought Lavine was supposed to be awful? That's why I put his name down.Kingcarl24 wrote:Beal or Lavine would be pretty devastating for the rest of the league.

I don't think he's awful at all. A super athletic guard that can create off the dribble and hit spot up threes? Sounds great for Lebron.TheSaboteur wrote:I thought Lavine was supposed to be awful? Defensively, he's always had issues. But, his offensive game just keeps exploding which makes it easier to overlook. And secondly, his defense has improved somewhat over the years, and if he were playing under the tutelage of such a great defensive coach as Frank Vogel, that shortcoming would become negligible.TheSaboteur wrote:I thought Lavine was supposed to be awful? Not to mention one of those two players is anchoring the number one rated defense in the NBA so far this season. Hint. It's not the Pelicans.Kingcarl24 wrote:Well lets see...elartman1973 wrote:No..and they didnt get AD for nothing..they gave away half the team and Ingram who is having a better year than AD ...ouchiekobeunderbite wrote:

Basically, it comes down to who fits best with AD.
THT is cheap. He is worth keeping.
and I don’t think Portland is trading Dame, as much as I would love to have him as a Laker.

I think trading THT would be beneficial in the short term because of what he might return as part of a package to help win another title now. But I also think it would be something the Lakers would regret down the road.Shill Jackson wrote:Basically, it comes down to who fits best with AD.

He's still just a kid, barely having turned 20 and you can almost see him developing in front of our eyes. Defensively, he's way beyond his years already, and that huge wingspan and effort really helps on that side of the floor.
On the offensive side, he's still figuring it out, but the tools are there. He has the strength to take it inside and finish pretty well and is starting to get court vision to go along with that. He's a beast strength wise for a guard and is barely 20 years old. He has zero post up game yet and is green as grass, but with all those tools and the right attitude which he certainly seems to have (extremely coachable), I think when LeBron is fading or gone, he will be a great compliment to AD.

He'll get a poison pill offer sheet and screw the Lakers over if they hang onto him. Better to maximize the now and worry about later later.

Dame just signed an extension with $228M guaranteed. He's gonna be the first player raking in $50M a season in a few years, so I don't think he's going anywhere. There's been rumors that Lowry's on the market. Redick & PJ Tucker could be some bargains if LA needs shooting.

Can you walk me though that. I thought we had a right to match because of Early Bird rights? I'll admit I really haven't kept up with the intricacies involving second round picks after two years, but I thought we could retain.kobeunderbite wrote:vcsgrizzfan wrote:I think trading THT would be beneficial in the short term because of what he might return as part of a package to help win another title now. Yes he can be retained but I think if kept with a poison pill contract it could rob the Lakers of any spending power outside of the big two, Horton, and exceptions.vcsgrizzfan wrote:Can you walk me though that.
