Conspiracy theory is a relatively recent made up term anyway. It really popped up when people started questioning the official JFK narrative. People at all levels have been involved in conspiracies to manipulate others and shape the public perception of events throughout history.

It's really not conspiracy theory, it's conspiracy fact. That being said, there is a lot of disinformation out there, so you have to sift through the noise. Most people are not very good at that.
