The best part of Moneyball was that Oakland lost to a team in the playoffs that was stuck in the olden days of scouting/coaching... AND... had a smaller payroll.

Analytics is a tool and should be used that way.

Last night, you should have looked at what the tool said and discarded it because the eye test was OVERWHELMING.

As awful as that move was to yank Snell, just as much blame needs to be put on the Rays hitters. You need to score more than 1 goddamn run.

Outside of Arozerena and Kiermayer I don’t think a Rays hitter had a +.200 BA. Even Arozerena couldn’t come through in multiple ABs with RISP. What’d he end up with like 10 HRs and 13 RBIs?

Flawed team that just survived flawed NYY/HOU teams. They were lucky to get two games in this series imo
