Re: MLB Postseason 2020 Thread
The Braves damn near pulled off a huge upset...The Braves were probably just one starter short...If Soroka doesnt go down, they probably win the title...
Next year the Braves have to add to their depth of pitching, and its a wrap...

As a neutral observer the Braves were extremely unlikable.
What on earth is that mixing a bowl gesture every time they got something as routine as a single?
That Ozuna dude was on a whole 'nother level of annoying.
Yikes.

This is a lie kiddo...Because of the abuse I have administered to you over the years, you are anything but a neutral observer...You found an opportunity to slurp some Undies and House ball sack, and you took advantage of it...AlaskaHawks wrote:As a neutral observer the Braves were extremely unlikable.

He was the difference in the series really. Losing Soroka hurt the Braves because they simply didnt have enough depth, especially after Cole Hamels couldnt go either...Odogg wrote:Julio Urias in the 2020 playoffs.

I dont love Bauer, but the Braves will need to add someone either through free agency or a trade...A healthy Fried, Soroka and Anderson is nice, but they need to add one more frontline starter to the mix...

Dodgers need to add a playoff starter as well. Other than Buehler and Urias it is pretty slim.rileymartin wrote:He was the difference in the series really. That's a pretty universally agreed upon assessment lol.
Upstart, small market teams with payrolls in the bottom half of the league are supposed to be likeable and build some national support and attention, but these Braves received none.
If there's one thing they lead the league in it's gold chains and the kind of behavior you described. They are also the least-white MLB team I've ever seen.
As far as Ozuna is concerned, that big ape, every year the Braves pinch together their pennies and splurge for a high-upside guy on a one-year deal. And that was Ozuna in 2020 lol. They'll either overpay him now to keep him or swap him out with some other deeply flawed player hoping to catch lightning in a bottle, maybe Joc Pederson or Yo Cespedes this time around.
You can set your watch to it. Hamels was the SP version and he rightly blew up in their face. The Braves and their reclamation projects squeeze out just enough production to keep their dopey fans expectations high despite their very low ceiling

So yea, other than those 22 guys, they dont have any whites on the roster...
The reality is, The Braves back in 2015 decided to blow it up with a 5 year plan to contend again...It has worked very, very well...They Braves stuck to that plan, and continue to develop an ubelievable farm system. They started winning again 3 years into thier 5 year plan, and could have easily sold the farm, but they have stuck to it...This is it for the National League...
The Braves will own the NL for the foreseeable future with the collection talent they have now...

The Braves peaked, this was their ceiling. They’ll never get this close to making the WS again in Riley’s lifetime (nor will the Heat sniff the NBA Finals again).
So close. Yet, so far.

Yep. Their best chance was to get the win this year and get in the Dodgers heads. Talent wise the Dodgers improve each year so lol at the Braves owning the NL going forward.lettherebehouse wrote:The Braves peaked, this was their ceiling. Yep. The magic carpet came falling down to earth, the clock struck midnight and they turned right back into a pumpkin lol.
And the worst part for the Braves fans? Can't even put any photos of this group up on the mantel to remember them by. I mean...
