How the hell does Shapo keep missing those 73 mph second serves on a fucking tee? I swear most women have better second serves than that. He should have been hitting winners on them but he couldn’t even keep the ball in play on most.

Zverev has an easy road to the finals imo.
He and Felix are both very frustrating to watch. So much talent is evident at times, but frustrating inconsistencies and "spazz" moments. I think they are both gradually getting better but this one was tough. Shapo tightened up when it mattered most.
Yeah it’s tough because it feels like a wasted effort. I loved how good his net play was though. Very few guys on tour could come to the net 70 times and win that high a percentage of points.

Serena is cooked. Losing to one of her pigeons at a slam after a 6-1 opening set. Her fitness is gone and not coming back. It's over!

Down 2 sets to nil to start. He better wake up.

Well, looks like he did. Got it to a 5th set and up already.

Why some of these women fat and out of shape (You could Serena panting like a dog through the whole match), when youre paid good money all year to play sports? :L

I never understood that. Being out of shape and fat is the LAST thing a pro athlete should be

Out of the frying pan and into the fire with Serena losing and the equally insufferable Osaka winning. We truly need our girl Bianca back to save ladies tennis :suds:

That tiebreak was weak. Djoker would have won that with ease.

All in all, a pretty embarrassing final. Forget the choking, both guys are completely gassed after a four hour final and cramping through the final set? How and why? Djokovic and Federer showed superior fitness in their 5+ hour final and obviously have ages more wear and tear on their legs.

Zverev is kind of pathetic. Thiem will clearly be a force everywhere moving forward, but Zverev was pretty lucky just to make the final with a cupcake draw. An impressive opening two sets but overall, a completely underwhelming tournament for him, and I don't think he survives Tsitsipas (or obviously Djokovic) had he drawn him either.

I don't know, it's tough to say. I think Thiem came out so tight because he was the huge favorite - against Djokovic, he may have had a completely different mentality and redlined like he had vs. Medvedev in the semi. Thiem has been a problem for Djokovic everywhere.

Zverev, however, would have been butchered like a ham by Djokovic in their semi.
