I saw everything while going over the tappan zee bridge. The unfathomable storm of dust and rubble and ash covering Manhattan. You sitting on your fat ass watching CNN while sucking your mom's tit doesn't really compare.

I'm so sad about this event every year. This year in particular because of the divisive tactics being employed by the radicals in this country right now. Antifa lighting the west coast on fire as we speak. RIP to all those lost.

Seems pretty crazy to think that much time has already passed. No one college age or below has any memory of this.

I remember hating all muslims after 9/11. I was gung-ho fuck yeah ‘murica gunz a blazin pro-Iraq and Afghan wars. Fuck’em all.
I’m not proud of that. But being dumb, angry, and naive at the time, I was ripe to recieve any pro war propaganda they could throw my way.

Crazy to think there’s people out there that want to defund an institution that showed unreal bravery to help on this dreadful day.

Re: 9/11 thread 2020
9/11 really did change the world forever.
All the changes that happened post-9/11 were the beginning of the dystopia that we’re currently living: mass surveillance (Patriot Act), increased security everywhere, restrictions on freedoms, people not trusting each other, fake news media, endless wars, etc..
The rest of the 2000s was a fun decade though, so at least we had that.

And those toddlers around back then are eligible to vote this November. That's if they want to. Or allowed to, really.manchild98 wrote:Seems pretty crazy to think that much time has already passed. No one college age or below has any memory of this.

I've got buddies in the Army still. A few months ago (might be a year now, I forget) one of them got promoted to CSM so we had a party. One of the SFCs at the party mentioned to me that they were starting to get the first new recruits who had been born post-9/11. I feel like my generation will be the last to remember.
I was in grade school and am 29 now.
Crazy day. I remember it pretty well.

My kids were 5 and 3 at the time.PhutureDynasty wrote:I feel like my generation will be the last to remember.

Crazy day. I remember it pretty well.
I remember a few days after 9/11, I was driving with them in the backseat, when a fire truck came toward us with lights and sirens going. I said something like, "Hey y'all, look. There's a fire truck." And my five year-old boy responded, with a tremor in his voice, "Are the bad guys going to hurt us now Daddy?"
Broke my heart.
