Aye yo TDK, so is Luis Robert the next Mike Trout or what?

Post by lettherebehouse »

And before this thread goes 12 pages deep like I anticipate it to be, let me preface it by acknowledging that Mike Trout has officially entered that rarified MJ air where anybody who’s anybody coming up as a 5 tool phenom automatically is gauged as, “is he the next Mike Trout” by scouts, GMs, media/fans.

Anyway, Luis Robert. Homeboy’s got that extra “snap” to all facets of his game. With such young talent emerging on the South Side (Robert, Jimenez, Moncada, Anderson), added to former Mike Trout rival Jose Abreu and vets like Grandal and Encarnacion, I can’t imagine how excited you must be going into 2020’s season.

Bump for The Great One, TDK

So like I was saying, this is a very exciting time for White Sox fans, I’ve got a special eye on their offense this year. The slow start was discouraging, as is the Tim Anderson injury, but this current 5 game win streak y’all are on, with the guys I mentioned tearing it up, only 2 games behind the white hot Twins, there’s tons to be excited about here. Not to mention, they’re my new favorite team to use outside of Anaheim in MLB’s The Show.

Moncada fuckin rakes

Jimenez fuckin rakes

Grandahl hits balls far and hard

Abreu although not the next Trout, rakes.

Garcia’s a nice little sparkplug for a little guy

And Robert’s quickly becoming thee premier leadoff hitter in the game.

Les’get it

I have not watched MLB (or the NBA) this year, so I cannot comment on the state of the Sox or Cubs and their respective players.
"Today's NBA is soft, the Defense is weak, and the rules 'really' favor the Offense."

"Lebron doesn’t guard for a full game and our game plan was to get him to play defense and he left me open all game."

I feel you, and believe me, I understand why. Just know that our boy is already looking like the real deal. Robert leads league in steals and top 10 in batting avg/obp. Near the top of the ALC division, you’ll have a helluva squad to enjoy once you’re up to returning to sports.

Why would Sox fans hate the Cubs? They’re not even in the same league.

Wouldn't you still hate the Clippers even if they were in the East? (I know it doesn't make sense geographically but work with me here)

If they were still a division rival, then yes.

So if they weren't, how would you feel about them?

Because most Sox and Cubs fans don't like the opposing. TDK is an anomaly with that I believe.

If they weren’t, and we weren’t regularly competing with them on a championship level for years/decades i.e Lakers/Celtics, Lakers/Spurs, then they’d be as irrelevant to me as the Hornets.

The crosstown non-divisional rivalry means very little to most outside of harmless bragging rights amongst casual fans. Cub fans know their animosity is with St Louis, just like Dodger fans know their real beef is with SF. If I heard a Cub fan tell me “I can’t stand the White Sox”, it’d tell me off the bat that the person is a casual, not that there’s anything wrong with it, it’s actually more healthy.

I just don’t see it broski. Is Eagles v Steelers a big thing in PA?

Sort of. I despise the Steelers. Arguably more than your beloved Football Team

Not more than the Cowboys or Giants though.

If the Steelers played in Philly, it'd be even worse IMO.

You hate the Steelers because of the team, or because you live around many annoying Steeler fans who need to stfu like Raider/Cowboy fans in SoCal?

I hate the Steelers because they play in PA, but aren't a team I root for. Steelers fans aren't that bad actually.

Alright FTR, that was never my intent, and I knew he gave up on pro athletes not named Jordan or Lebron a while ago. I knew I’d be talking to myself, I just needed a reason to put it on record that this young kid they got is a stud so I can bump it down the road instead of making it seem totally random.

I got everything I wanted here. I got to throw shit against the wall with not too many ppl looking so if my prediction fails, nobody will even know about it. And, my ***** Phuture even popped in to have a drink with ya boi.

10/10 thread would recommend
