The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average.

That's approximately the 60th percentile (assuming a SD of 15), assuming that 2000 figure is roughly the same today.

Besides that, my comment certainly didn't imply they were geniuses. I mentioned a *drop* in score.

All else being equal, dumber people are more likely to resort to violence, lack high-level communication abilities, and lack all the soft skills that leftists (correctly actually) say should be valued in police officers. That could be a drop from 104 to 98, 125 to 110, 90 to 80, or anything else.

There's nothing wrong with the present police force. Yeah, there are some bad apples, but that's because of our fallen state as human beings. The good ones outweigh the bad...immeasurably.

But police by and large do a great job protecting the citizens.
