Clevetown, I need your teaching advice
My daughter is having trouble learning to count money. She's in 1st grade. The main thing she doesn't understand is how to change from counting quarters to dimes. What kind of teaching strategies can I use to help her understand this?

make two groups of 10's and one 5 and circle them. Show her the two groups represent dimes and the last one represents a nickel. If she doesn't get it after that, she might be retarded.

OT - Teaching is brutal. After my freshman year in college, I spent the summer teaching SAT prep at Kaplan.
Grading HWs isn't so bad though, signed up to do so for intro classes most terms when I was in school. Good way to make a few bucks. Learned how to use LaTex that way as well, since we had a rotation and had to type up solutions to upload.

I think she had one. Shouldn't trouble teachers on their down time. They kick you out of the lounge
