People that make lame jokes like that are such cast aways.

I dig the Wilson Evolution.

Anybody remember the last time the NBA tried to switch basketballs?

It's probably got some sort of gentle scentless moisturizing properties too.
Not like 1984-1998 when they had railroad spikes that would randomly shoot out of the sides if a guy wasn't fouled hard enough.

Wilson is pretty much the standard for LA Fitness pickup games. There are rarely ever any Spaldings there. And the ones that are there are always faded and broken.

I don’t think I’ve ever touched an official ball with real leather.

No. But I'm sure I'd hate it.

I'm a bit fussy about basketballs. What I mean is... I'm an annoying freak. I'm literally "that" guy. A certain type of ball totally messes up my shot more than it already is.

What ball we play with is normally the biggest argument where I play.

At my Thursday game (where this usually is an issue) the winner of the first game might switch back to their preferred ball. After the second game though... the ball stays.

The "discussion" is usually between me and another guy. He brings his own ball. He's a shooter, I'm a passer... so if we're on the same team, we usually go with his ball. More often than not though... we're matched up with each other and the ball banter is probably pretty annoying to everybody else.

Apparently they have to be broken in which is no problem for NBA players with all the practice but for regular joes can take a few months. Players love the real leather and won't switch to synthetic like the Evolution.
