That's not to crap on boxing. But if you can't pay rent (because you are a typical boxer and on a work-release program), you sure as hell can't shell out 150 dollars a month to train MMA or BJJ, and you definitely aren't spending 50-100 dollars a month watching events.
Which is fine. It's just different. And worse. But definitely different.
So your facts based study on the global economic conditions of the participants and fans of each sport is based on “muh experience”.
According to LNS, boxers and boxing fans are both a) true thugged out hardcore gangstas who are the REAL fighters, and b) filthy rich, highly educated, supremely well off intellectuals.

The greatest (absolute) fighter in MMA history graduated with honors from trade school and was a successful (military) fireman.
The greatest (absolute) fighter in boxing history could barely fucking read.
The current best p4p fighter in MMA can speak seven (more?) languages.
The fairly recent best p4p fighter in boxing could barely struggle through reading in his native tongue.

Do you know how many current boxing champions are white Europeans? Now compare that to the amount of dirt poor Brazilians (go ahead... I’ll wait).

But he can read. He went (briefly) to college.
He is a leading athlete on scientific advancements in testing (picograms/pulsing stuff).
