Players who retired one year too early? One year too late? Perfect timing?

Talk about anything here.

Jordan's retirement in 1998 was perfect timing. Then he came back which was kinda lame.

Yeah Kareem stayed one year too long. Didn't help the Lakers at all in 89.

Tyson was too late too, now that you mention boxing. He was lethal early on, and his KO of Michael spinks (89 seconds if memory serves) was him at his most dominant.

Edit: It was 91 seconds, not 89.

There’s a long list of boxers that kept going way past their expiration date. I listed Holyfield because he is a bit punch drunk now... but Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, James Toney, Bernard Hopkins.... there are so many dudes that retired way too late.
