I may have seen this post 3 months later and only because someone bumped the thread 9 days ago, but shut your dumbass up. They aren't called the Pelican. The "S" is literally part of the team name, dumbfuck.

Damn we hit the jackpot with Dwight this past season. Do we double down for another? Or will psycho Dwight return?

In this small ball NBA era, Dwight is often superfluous. But he's incredibly valuable in some matchups where teams have solid bigs. He was important in the Portland series although not a difference maker, and even more important against Denver and Jokic.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Mine was actually a logical take with no agenda. TDK is not capable of those.

I only said that because that’s TDK’s favorite phrase.

Anyway, all signs are pointing to the small ball era being dead. IMO, it died with the Warriors.

Bam Adebayo’s destruction of the Celtics and Jokic’s destruction of the Clippers (along with AD’s destruction of the entire league) is pointing to a trend of big ball being back.

I'm not so sure. Abedayo plays the C, but he's hardly a big man, and certainly not in the traditional sense. It is why Dwight wasn't nearly as useful against him. Dwight was useful against Nurkic and Jokic who are more traditional sized bigs and have less foot speed than Bam. There aren't that many teams that can really abuse you if you don't have a traditional big. Those teams can.

Things do go in pendulums though and there will be better offensive bigs that mirror more Jokic types. You won't need to have one to win, but you will need to be able to have one who can defend them without needing too much double team help.

Dwight was huge for the opposing center matchups you mention. This allows AD to stay fresh and roam on defense.

Would you characterize Vlade as a very poor man's Jokic?
